Overall Mood

-Nature vibes, calming, earthy.  

Materials

-Yarn Brand: Milk Cotton

-8 PLY

-Hook Size: 5mm

-Colour Used: Cream & Muted Nature Green 

-Finished Size: 40 x 45 squares

Tension

-Tension was quite smooth because I have been using the new colour changing method for every tapestry now. Though occasionally I need to reorganize the yarn because it does get tangled very easily along the way. 

Colour Work

-I was contemplating between cream and beige for the base colour and eventually went with cream. Cream stood out to me and it had better contrast with the muted green compared to beige. 

-The curving parts of the leaves makes the colour changing slightly complicated but it’s doable. 

Hand & Wrist Comfort 

-Wrist and fingers were getting more familiar with the colour changing parts so less tension and pain. 

Yarn Behaviour 

-Both yarn were super easy to use and easy to manipulate and move along with. 

Row Milestones

-I spent 2 days finishing this because I was doing other work as well. But this tapestry can technically be finished in one sitting. 

Lessons Learned

-Crocheting the yarn as I go, makes the tension less tight and creates better flow in work. 

-Bring yarn to the other side when they reach their finishing part so that it doesn’t get tangled with other yarn and makes crocheting the yarn in as I go, a lot smoother. Doing this also saves me a lot of time because I do not need to tie knots or weave in any ends. 

-Cream has a better contrast with cool or bright colours. Beige works better for warmer colours. 

Personal Reflection 

This project is the last square from the Petal and Patch Blanket pattern by Willow Crochet. I started this tapestry pattern as a practice and I am very happy with how it turned out. Also, this square is the only one in the entire pattern that only uses 2 colours instead of 3. Colourwise, it was the easiest to work with because I only needed to focus on 2 colours. But pattern wise, this one is quite challenging because of the curves and bends of the shape of the leaf.
