The Friend I Couldn’t See
This poem was inspired by a beautiful writing prompt about an invisible companion who appears during life's loneliest moments. I imagined her as the kind of friend who doesn't arrive with solutions, but with gentle whispers, patient ears, and the warmest hug when words are no longer enough.
My Invisible Friend
Tap! Tap!
She leans over and say,
“Why do you look so sad?”
She wipes my tears that
Shed continuously from the exhaustion of
Stress and Worrying.
Shhhhh!
She puts her finger on my lips,
Gently whispered in my ear,
“You can tell me anything,
I promise to keep it a secret.”
Just like a best friend should.
Knock! Knock!
My walls slowly break down,
My mind became silent,
Everything starts to slow down.
“Let me give you a hug," she said.
“Because your Heart needs it.”
